Chu Zhao, the "good-for-nothing prince" exiled to a fiefdom, picks up Xiaoyuanzi, a little baby crying for her mother, on the outskirts of the city. He thinks she's a burden, but Xiaoyuanzi turns out to be a "human koi"—he wins imperial green jade every time he gambles on stones, passersby accidentally save him from assassinations, and even the old case feared by the emperor suddenly has clues to reverse. However, as Xiaoyuanzi's "koi luck" attracts prying eyes, Chu Zhao discovers she's the victim of a royal baby-swapping conspiracy—the real daughter of the crown prince! While protecting Xiaoyuanzi, he investigates the past truth. The once idle prince is forced to become a "go-getter" in "raising a child," finally ascending the throne by uncovering the conspiracy and giving Xiaoyuanzi justice.
