Shen Zhaozhao, the legitimate daughter of the Town North Marquis Mansion, marries Gu Yanqing, the "number one dandy" in the capital, by imperial decree. On their wedding night, her husband gets drunk in the outer courtyard holding his old lover's jade pendant, becoming a laughingstock in the capital. As a high-born lady, Shen Zhaozhao takes out her grandmother's "husband-taming manual": she deals with his rowdy friends, exposes the old lover's schemes, and even forces him to learn housekeeping. But when Gu Yanqing gradually becomes "obedient", she discovers his dandyism is a disguise—he's secretly investigating the truth about his family's extermination, and all those "absurd things" are excuses to protect her. In this "husband-taming" game, they test each other's hearts until the truth is revealed: what needs to be "tamed" most is never the other person, but two hearts that dare not be honest.
