Reporter Zhang Xingang, aiming to uncover the truth about a welfare home fire a decade ago, disguises himself as an investor to approach Lin Wei—a mysterious designer and the only survivor of the fire. The two form a conspiracy for a “common revenge,” but during the investigation, they discover each other’s deadly secrets: Zhang’s brother was the firefighter who died in the fire, while Lin’s “revenge” is actually to hide her guilt of “doing nothing” that year, which even leads to an interest chain behind the welfare home. When the truth spreads like wildfire toward each other, will they choose to tear open the scars and face the past, or stop the investigation to protect each other?
