B-list actress Su Xiaotang accidentally binds to a "Tragic Acting System"—the sadder her character is, the more popularity and resources she gains. From a terminally ill wife to an orphan searching for her family, she becomes a top star with her "heartbreakingly real" crying scenes. But her fans are in open rebellion: their supertopic floods with "Xiaotang, stop hurting yourself," they hold "We Want Sweet Xiaotang" signs at airport pickups, and even send crates of fruit candies to her company. When the system pushes the ultimate tragic script—"betrayed by her sister for her boyfriend + terminal illness"—Su Xiaotang hesitates as she reads fans' messages: she once dreamed of playing vibrant, sweet roles. Will she keep climbing the ladder with tragedy, or risk losing everything to give those who fight to pull her out of sadness a "non-scripted" future? Just then, the system's voice chimes: "Violate the mission, and all gains will be reclaimed..."
