Shen Zhaozhao, the legitimate daughter of the Zhenguo General’s Mansion, developed a "madness" after an assassination attempt in her childhood, becoming the capital’s well-known spoiled "mad" princess. She feigns insanity every day just to avoid her betrothal to the cold-faced Prince Jin, Xiao Jingheng. Little does she know, Xiao Jingheng had seen her true self ten years prior—under a peach tree, the young girl saved him from assassins with a stick of sugar-coated haws. Now, Xiao Jingheng deliberately accepted the betrothal to unmask her "madness": he accompanies her to grab sugar figurines, helps her hide a broken imperial kiln vase, and even carries her back to the prince’s mansion with a smile when she pretends to cause chaos in the street. Just as Shen Zhaozhao fears her secret will be exposed, Xiao Jingheng hands her a jade pendant carved with peach blossoms: "I’ve waited ten years, and finally found my little sugar hawk girl."
