Zhu Yunzhi, a burned-out advertising planner, returns home for her grandma's old bookstore, only to encounter Li Junlin—her childhood sweetheart who fell out with her over an "evening breeze promise," now a "stubborn alley dweller" stopping her from selling the store. The ticking of an old clock hides Li Junlin's secret of missing a competition for her, while the faded kite in Zhu Yunzhi's drawer reveals their unspoken regret. When the evening wind blows through the old locust tree at the bookstore again, can they retrieve the unsaid "I've been waiting for you" from the pile of old things?
