Princess Lin Ruixue of Zhenbei just quelled the border chaos with her silver spear, but upon returning to the court, she receives an imperial edict betrothing her to Wu Hao, the heir of Jingwang Mansion who is rumored to 'not live past twenty'. She goes to break off the engagement with a letter, only to overhear Wu Hao talking to his secret guards—his 'short life' is a facade; he is actually investigating court corruption, and proposing to her is to use the princess's military power to protect himself. Lin Ruixue pretends not to know and plays along, but as they spend time together, she finds this 'sickly heir' will secretly make medicine when she's injured and stand up to shield her when she's framed. When the conspiracy is uncovered, will they continue to use each other, or finally bare their hearts?
