Zhang Haoyang, a penniless guy who failed in his business, was forced to marry Yang Yumeng, a "chubby wife" mocked by the neighbors, to raise money for his mother's medical bills. He thought his life would get worse after marriage, but strange things kept happening— the client who had turned him down changed his mind because of Yumeng's homemade sauced meat, he won 50,000 yuan from a lottery ticket he picked up during his low point, and even his boss who had been targeting him suddenly became friendly (it turned out the boss was Yumeng's childhood friend). Just as Zhang Haoyang gradually fell for Yumeng, he accidentally discovered that her "chubbiness" was a disguise— she was actually a hidden heiress of a catering group who had deliberately gained weight to find someone who loved her for her true self. At this point, Yumeng's family forced her to go back and inherit the family business, and Zhang Haoyang had to make a choice: continue to be a "kept man" or prove with actions that he was worthy of her?
