Beneath the facade of "peace and prosperity" in the Great Ning Dynasty, a dark tide of military supply embezzlement by frontier armies threatens the border's peace. Lin Wan, a captain of the Jinyiwei (Embroidered Uniform Guard), goes undercover as the owner of the "Guixu Teahouse" in the capital to investigate—only to rescue Gu Zhao, a "down-and-out scholar" being hunted. Little does she know, Gu Zhao is the exiled Third Prince who holds irrefutable evidence of the corruption. From suspicious strangers to allies, they unravel layers of deception: a broken porcelain shard in the teahouse hides the supply ledger, Gu Zhao's jade pendant is a secret troop dispatch token, and the "battlefield death" of Lin Wan's father is actually a murder to cover up the embezzlement. When a letter revealing the frontier general's rebellion arrives, can they stop the uprising, restore peace to the realm, and hold onto the love that has quietly bloomed between them?
