Modern office worker Lin Xiaoman is suddenly identified as the missing ancestor of a thousand-year-old sect. She has to deal with “magic blunders” like shaky hands when drawing talismans and dropping bowls while controlling objects, face villains stealing artifacts, a boss who PUA her at work, and even meet Lu Mingchuan—her ancestor’s “old flame” and her cold neighbor! Forced to pretend to be a “powerful ancestor” as a socially anxious wallflower, she uses “silly tricks” to break the deadlock: sticking a talisman on the villain’s shoe to make him fall into a mud pit, replacing her boss’s coffee with goji tea using object control… It turns out the ancestor’s “powers” are the courage to be straightforward and the strength to hold onto her true heart amid chaos!
