In a small county in 1988, Wu Mengyuan was scolded by her mother-in-law for being "barren" and could hardly hold her head up. Her husband was weak and did nothing, and even the temporary factory job she had worked hard to get was stolen by her sister-in-law. Until she saw hand-knitted scarves being snapped up in the vegetable market—her ten-year-old knitting skill suddenly "came alive"! She made twenty scarves with her dowry old yarn, squatted at the station at dawn to sell them, and earned half a month's salary! But her mother-in-law called her "shameless for showing up in public", and her sister-in-law tried to steal her yarn. This time, Wu Mengyuan retorted firmly: "It's my money—none of you get to judge!" From a street vendor to opening a knitting shop, from being trampled by her in-laws to becoming the "Knitting Queen" of the county, she will show everyone: Women in the 80s can shine with their own hands.
