Fubao, a 7-year-old girl in a famine-stricken village in 1960, was reborn after starving to death in her previous life—and she’s now bonded with a spirit spring space: piles of rice towering to the ceiling, strings of preserved meat, and healing spirit water. But showing wealth in a famine is a death sentence: Aunt Wang next door eyes her family’s wild vegetable dumplings greedily, the captain’s son sneaks over the fence to steal, and even her own grandma wants to sell her to an old bachelor in the next village for grain. She secretly slips space-grown corn cakes to her starving brother and uses spirit water to cool her feverish mother, but more “coincidences” make villagers whisper: “Is Fubao a blessing from a disaster star?” She must guard her secret to save her family while evading prying eyes—starting a risky journey of “hiding grain to save loved ones.”
