Modern office worker Lin Xiaoman accidentally travels to the famine-stricken 1962. Right after arriving, she faints from hunger on the production team's ridge and triggers the mysterious PinHaoFan System when on the verge of death. The system assigns her first task: exchange 10 wild vegetables for a corn bun at the commune canteen, unlocking hidden supplies on completion. To survive, she bargains with the mean canteen aunt and accidentally discovers she can exchange modern supplies through the system. But as soon as she gets rice, she's targeted by thugs from another village coveting her supplies. Facing successive survival crises, she has to rely on the system to clear levels and make a way out in this material-scarce era.
