Lin Yang, an ordinary working boy, has his girlfriend Xiaotang kidnapped by a casino gang demanding a 500,000 yuan ransom. Unable to raise the money, Lin Yang remembers Xiaotang’s words—“You’ll always be my hero”—and kicks down the casino door. No one expects this weak-looking boy in an old T-shirt is the retired “God of War” mercenary who dismantled a transnational drug ring alone three years ago. Facing the approaching bodyguards, Lin Yang’s eyes turn cold and takes them down in seconds. When the gang leader presses a knife to Xiaotang’s throat, Lin Yang pulls out a telescopic baton and hits the leader’s wrist precisely—the knife clatters to the ground. The gang members kneel, begging for mercy. Lin Yang hugs Xiaotang gently: “I retired to live a normal life with you, but anyone who hurts you will pay.” Finally, the police arrive and arrest the gang. As they walk out in the sun, no one knows this gentle boy was once the “terror of the underground world.”
