Gu Shaochen, the young master of the Gu family, is wracked with worry because his father is seriously ill. When he goes up the mountain to find herbs, he is bitten by a venomous snake and saved by Xiaoling'er—a girl raised by the whole village with everyone's care—using herbal medicine. Xiaoling'er is quirky and claims she's a "little divine doctor who came down the mountain to find a wife for her dad."
