After five years of hard work in a first-tier city, Liu Lin has saved enough for a down payment and decided to move his parents and younger sister from the remote mountain village in western Hubei to the city for a better life. But his lifelong mountain-dwelling father insists "the mountain is our root", his mother can't bear to leave her elderly mother-in-law and the ancestral tea plantation, and his sister fears failing to keep up with urban life. Caught between the landlord pushing him to sign the purchase contract and his family refusing to move, Liu Lin is stuck in a dilemma. Only when a mountain fire disrupts the village's peace does the whole family realize that leaving the mountains might be their better choice.
