It turns out her past life was Zhuo Hang's lover, who was devoured by an evil spirit to save him, leaving a broken soul wandering the mortal world. Now the evil spirit returns to devour her current soul. Zhuo Hang must follow Underworld rules to bring her back yet can't help breaking them to protect her; Li Zhiying struggles between her duty as a living person and her past-life obsession. Together, they must unravel the evil spirit's plot and face the fateful choice of "one encounter, two lives and deaths."
