Lin Xiaoman, a good-for-nothing street rogue just trying to scrounge up a meal, accidentally stumbles into the imperial palace and mistakes the undercover Empress Su Yuan for a lowly maid. He bosses her around, making her chop firewood, carry water and rub his shoulders, even mocking her for being clumsy right in public. Just as Lin is about to be beheaded by the imperial guards, the empress he'd tormented not only spares his life but also takes a fancy to this audacious troublemaker. What ensues is a hilarious, heart-fluttering romantic comedy set in the imperial palace.
