Granny Zhou, a widow in a Northern Song village, struggles to feed her sickly grandson Xiaodou—they can’t even afford bran cakes. One day, she finds a warm jade pendant in the mountains that unlocks a space linking to a modern vegetable market—where tomatoes are bright and glossy, rice is pearly white, and eggs are bigger than any she’s seen! She trades her old hen for ten catties of rice, making Xiaodou his first bowl of white porridge. But villagers accuse her of “stealing the Kitchen God’s treasures” and try to take her to the ancestral hall for punishment. Just then, Xia Xia, a kind modern market vendor, stumbles into the space, lying she’s Granny Zhou’s “distant granddaughter” and using her phone’s flashlight as “modern magic” to scare off the crowd. How long can they keep the secret? Will Xiaodou recover? A heartwarming cross-time redemption story has just begun...
