In a past life, Su Wan, a dancer in the Hall of Eternal Life, fell in love with Gu Zhao, the general guarding the hall. They died tragically in a palace coup, and Gu Zhao’s last words were, "I’ll wait for you outside the Hall of Eternal Life." In the present, Su Wan works as a cultural relic restorer. While restoring an ancient painting from the hall, she is shocked to find the woman in the painting looks exactly like her. To her surprise, she meets Lu Zhao, an archaeologist, outside the hall—he not only bears an uncanny resemblance to Gu Zhao but also holds half a jade pendant that perfectly matches the one Su Wan wears around her neck. When the melody of "Rainbow Skirt and Feather Garment" (the dance Su Wan performed in her past life) drifts from the painting at midnight, fragmented memories of their past life surge. Can this pair of lovers, separated for a thousand years, break the fate of "no returner outside the Hall of Eternal Life"?
